Enable the Next-gen editor

The Next-gen editor is not enabled by default, and needs to be enabled by an administrator. Individual users can then choose to set it as their default editor. To enable the Next-gen editor:

  1. Sign in to Paligo using a user account that has administrator permissions.

  2. Select the avatar in the top-right corner. User avatar. It shows the user's image and their name. Next to the name is a downward pointing arrow, which when selected, reveals a menu.

  3. Select Settings from the menu. Cog icon.

  4. Select the System Settings tab. Cog icon.

  5. In the Editor Light (beta) field, select the type of user that should have access to the Next-gen editor in the dropdown:

    • Disabled: Next-gen editor is disabled for all users.

    • Admin users only: Next-gen editor is enabled for users with administrator privileges.

    • All authors: Next-gen editor is enabled for all users of this instance.

Set the Next-gen editor as your default editor

You can set the Next-gen editor as your default editor so that it opens automatically when you select the component title in the Content manager.

  1. Select the Editor settings in the Editor header.

  2. Select the Beta tab

  3. Select the Use Next-Gen Editor as your default editor checkbox.

  4. Select Save settings.
